After a solid college career with the Michigan Wolverines, safety Makari Paige is reportedly joining the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.

Appearing in 53 total games, Paige racked up 135 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defensed during his time in Ann Arbor.
Paige is a local product, playing high school football at West Bloomfield before signing with the Wolverines. A part of Michigan’s 2020 recruiting class, Paige was ranked 227th in his class, 20th among safeties and fifth among players from the state of Michigan.
One of the best moments of Paige’s collegiate career came in one of his final games with the Wolverines. Late in the third quarter, Paige was able to pick off Ohio State quarterback Will Howard in the red zone, a play that was a key factor in Michigan’s upset victory over an Ohio State team favored to win the game by three touchdowns.
Paige will never have to pay for a drink in Ann Arbor after that interception.

Like any good safety should, Paige has a nose for the ball, grabbing a key fumble forced by Rayshaun Benny in the win over Penn State back in 2023.

Paige’s good ball skills combined with his physicality in the secondary can help him stay in the NFL for a long time.
We at Maize n Brew wish the best for Paige and can’t wait to watch him play on Sundays.
