EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office has released the name of the man who was shot during a home invasion robbery Tuesday in Evansville.

22-year-old Mekhi Anthony Maxwell of Evansville passed away in a home along Sweetser Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

According to Evansville Police, Maxwell and two other people broke into the home. A resident inside the home shot and killed Maxwell, while the other two suspects escaped the scene.

Evansville Police continue to investigate the shooting and search for the other two suspects.

The coroner's office said the autopsy on Maxwell will be performed on Thursday.
