Maine Clambake Mysteries author discusses series
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Barbara Ross is the author of the Maine Clambake Mysteries.
Summary from the author:
“In this series, which includes 12 books and 6 novellas, Julia Snowden returns to her hometown of Busman’s Harbor, Maine to save her family’s failing clambake business. The Snowden Family Clambakes, founded by Julia’s mother and late father, include a harbor tour and a Maine-style clambake on a private island. Through the books, Julia, a gifted amateur sleuth, solves tricky, twisty murders while finding love, friendship, winter work, and purpose in the town where she never felt she fit in, and that she never expected to return to.”
The series is loosely based on the the real Cabbage Island Clambake and the fiction Busman’s Harbor is based on Boothbay Harbor.
Every book and novella in the series includes recipes, most of which Ross’ husband, Bill Carito, created.
